Ph.D. Student, CUNY Graduate Center, New York Consortium in Evolutionary Primatology, NSF Graduate Research Fellow
Andrea De Renzis grew up in Staten Island, New York, and has been interested in animals as long as she can remember. She completed her bachelor’s degree at Stony Brook University, where she majored in Anthropology and focused on primate evolution. Andrea conducted archaeological fieldwork in Turkana, Kenya, during her time at Stony Brook, and attended field school at the Turkana Basin Institute. After graduating from Stony Brook, she worked as a Vertebrate Paleontology intern at the Florida Museum of Natural History for the Panama Canal Project (PCP-PIRE). She is currently working towards her doctorate at the CUNY Graduate Center as part of the New York Consortium in Evolutionary Primatology. Her current research broadly focuses on evolutionary relationships within the mammalian clade Euarchonta. She is excited for the upcoming field season in the American West!
